Sometime later, perhaps the late '60's, but definitely by the 1970's, the traditional pull out sofa beds became quite popular. These may have been quite comfortable initially (though I have my doubts), but most of these had thin, 4" mattresses that did not have a very long life. It was not uncommon to feel a bar in the middle of your back when you had to sleep on one, not very conducive to a good nights sleep.
The cabriole is a French-styled, petite sofa. It has an exposed wooden frame which is delicately designed, extending from the back to the arms. The back cushions are integrated into the frame, while the seat cushion can be removed.
Material and Fabric: Choosing the right material is the most important and exciting part of your new purchase. After all it reflects your taste and who doesn't like to make a style statement? The type of fabric or material chosen ideally differs with the planned location of the loveseat. A loveseat located in the sun room should usually have a white or light pastel shaded material while the one in the den can do with black or brown colored leather material. The design of the loveseat framework is a deciding factor too. You just can't stick to some set standards in this matter! Buying a long-lasting material with a good feel is the best bet even if it means shelling out a few more dollars.
Faux Leather: Those of you who are a little worried about getting home a leather sofa may choose faux leather. It is as durable and in fact, more resistant to pets and their behavior. A faux leather sofa is also less expensive than actual leather, but looks equally rich. Therefore, you may consider this as an option when choosing sofa fabrics.
